Customer Reviews

What a great little fuzz this is!
The pedal is very compact, about 2/3rds the size of a boss, and its very very rugged. Hard metal shell, metal jacks, tough knobs, it'll hold up well to some abuse, I'm very confidant of that.
The tone itself is very good. Its a nice, responsive, general purpose old-school fuzz. Its not as thick as a big muff, but it is warm and smooth when needed, buzzy if you want it. It also cleans up nicely with the volume control of your guitar. Its a bit hard writing about the exact tone of a fuzz, but to give you some ideas I could easily find the Stone's "Satisfaction" in there, as well as some early Kinks type stuff. With a little tweaking I could conjure up the Beatles "Revolution" as well as some Jesus and Mary Chain type sounds.
To these ears it sounds better than my MXR classic 108 and my Boss FZ-3, both more expensive pedals.
The downsides? For one, the battery compartment is hard to access, you have to undo a couple of tiny screws on the bottom, which would be easy to lose. I use a OneSpot so its not a problem for me, but I want to be objective and point out possible concerns for others.
Another downside, if you crank the volume on the pedal it seems to overdrive itself into a weird muffley sounding territory regardless of your amp volume. That said, you're well past unity gain by the time that starts to happen, so like the difficult battery access issue, its really not gonna be that big of deal to most people.
All in all, its a great little fuzz, easily a 4 star item regardless of cost, but when you factor it the under 50 dollar price tag, its a total no-brainer for fuzz fans.

i am extremely disappointed. when the unit arrived i was impressed by its size and general appearance. i immediately plugged in my bass, and the power light went out. no problem (or, so i thought). i got a phillips screw driver out to turn the two screws closing the battery compartment door, and the screws wouldn't turn! eventually they stripped.
i contacted the company and a day or so later got an email, and then a call. i was very impressed until the offer was made: if i would send the unit back they would inspect it and either repair it or fix it. fair offer, right? only thing is, they wanted me to pay the freight to ship it. i gave it some thought, then wrote back to say that i did nothing wrong. i bought their item in good faith of it working. why should i have to pay anything more for them to live up to their end of the implied contract? "it's our policy," is what i was told. i told them that it's my" policy to not pay for another's mistake, and it's further my policy to only deal with reputable, mature companies who know and appreciate the value of their customers. i returned it through the good people at amazon.
i do not recommend anyone buying this, or any product by this company. and as far as it's sound is concerned? i couldn't tell you. i was never able to get it to work. - rzr
