When I first got this pedal, i wasn't impressed with it. After you turn the threshold knob past 12 o'clock it stopped reducing noise. The mute worked perfectly right off the bat though. I first had my seymour Duncan Tweak Fuzz hooked up to it and my Line 6 echo park next to it. But after i rearranged my pedals around a bit, it made a total difference. It felt like i had the boss NS2. I almost feel like you have to set any noise reduction pedal at a specific spot to get the best reduction. Those of of you who are afraid of it being plastic: it's a noise reduction pedal so it shouldn't be stepped on a lot anyway. I will honestly say i won't buy any effect behringer stuff. but i recommend the nr 300 for budget players. You just have to know the science of setting up your pedals.

This is not the first noise gate on my board, I also have a Boss gate. I say this is better than expected, because I expected it to work just like the Boss pedal, but perhaps less well. But, in fact, it works better than the Boss, and this is because it has an indicator light to tell you when the gate is open or closed, which makes it much easier to setup. Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to.
